Michael J. Landry

Michael J. Landry passed away on August 7, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Beloved husband of Kathleen Gordon Landry. Father of Christine Henderson (husband Shawn) and David Landry (wife Jamie). Grandfather of Jack Henderson, Aidan and Nathan Landry. Brother of Loretta Hughes (husband Floyd Jr.) and the late Cecilia Mutz (husband George). Son of the late Albert Joseph Landry and Noemi Flanagan Landry. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Michael earned his Associates Degree in Engineering from Delgado College and BA in Management from Loyola University. He worked for many years with Louisiana Gas Service, Jefferson Parish Public School System and later retired. He loved the outdoors, whether it was working in his yard, kayaking or canoeing. As a volunteer with the Barataria Preserve of the Jean Lafitte Historical Park and Preserve, he spent many hours walking the trails and educating the public about our wildlife and unique heritage. He will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 10 AM to 1 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations in his memory may be made to the Barataria Preserve/Jean Lafitte Historical Park and Preserve ( www.nps.gov/jela/barataria-preserve.htm ).
