Michael Thad Bridges Sr.

Michael Thad Bridges Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2021. He was 78. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Amelia Dunham Bridges. Father of Sherri Bridges, Cynthia Phipps (Jay), Rhonda Ashpole (Brian), Wendi Chacon (Roberto) and the late Michael Bridges Jr. Brother of Janell Lore, Mary Bridges, the late Vicki McInnis, Janie Baum and James Curtis Bridges III. Son of the late James Curtis Bridges Jr. and Helen Kennedy Bridges. Great-grandfather of the late Everly Amelia Delcid. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Michael served his country in the U.S. Army and later worked as a skilled welder and handyman for many years. He enjoyed playing pool for the NOLA APA and was a member of the Westbank Cruiser Car Club with his best friend, Bobby Benoit. Michael was also a member of the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans Association. He enjoyed spending his days working on cars and hanging out with Bobby and his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
