Michael David Barnhart passed away on January 2, 2020 at the age of 67.
He was born in New Orleans on July 26, 1952. Preceded in death by his parents Charles J. Gordon, Jr and Dolores Barnhart Gordon. He is survived by his loving
wife of 46 years, Karen Lucas Barnhart and their children, Kristen M. Becnel (Steve) and Joshua D. Gordon (Collette). He is the proud grandfather of Stephen, Mason, Kylie, Brooklyn, Asher, and Violet. In 2014, he retired as a supervisor with the Federal Grain Inspection Service. Michael will be dearly missed but fondly remembered as an avid fisherman, chess player, Roman historian, and as a great conversationalist.
A graveside memorial will be held on Monday, January 20 at 11am at
Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
