Merlin J. "Cal" Calligan

Merlin J. “Cal” Calligan entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Sylvia E. Calligan for 57 years. Loving father of Merlin J. Calligan, Jr., Raymond J. Calligan (Faith) and Brandi A. Calligan. Grandfather of Shelton Adams, Aaron Calligan, Chance Adams and Elise Calligan. Son of the late Herman Calligan and Ester Landry Calligan. Brother of Robert Calligan and the late Barbara Lasseigne. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Marrero, Louisiana and resided in Gretna, Louisiana. He graduated from Berhman High School, Class of 1959. He served his country for 10 years in the United States Navy and he was a member of the VFW of Gretna, American Legion in Terrytown and Westbank Gretna #1.
