Melvin Joseph Lecompte, Sr.

Melvin Joseph LeCompte, Sr was born on September 26, 1944. He departed this life on August 18, 2021 due to complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was a resident of Bridge City and a native of Westwego. Melvin was the loving husband of Gwendolyn Damico LeCompte for almost 53 years and the loving father of Melvin Joseph LeCompte Jr (Michelle) and Doris LeCompte Wild (Chad). He adored his granddaughters, Krystin LeCompte, Maycee LeCompte, Morgan Domingue and Dhaun Domingue. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Marisco Matherne; his father, Adam Pierre LeCompte and his brother, Alan LeCompte Sr. Melvin, affectionately known as Mel, was a proud Vietnam Veteran. His greatest joy in life was his family. He particularly enjoyed Christmas. He loved filling the tree with presents and hanging his Christmas lights.
