Mary Helen Lemarie Saucier

Fortified with the Sacrament of the Holy Mother Church and the hope of Jesus Christ's resurrection, Mary Helen LeMarie Saucier departed this life to be with her Lord and Mother on January 3, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Born on January 21, 1932 in Port Arthur, Texas and a resident of Port Sulphur. Wife of the late Joseph Harold Saucier for 60 years. Mother of Lauren Lee Saucier and the late Jo Ellen Butler and late Ned Edward Saucier. Preceded by her parents, Robert LeMaire, Sr. and Laurence Landry and her siblings, Joseph Eueil (Azelie), Mathilda Hebert (Minus), Enola Bell (Alexander), Paul U.J. (Wilda), James Ray (Yola), Wilbert, Sr. (Velma), Wilson (Irene), and John Harry (Anite), her twin. Grandmother of Ian John, Matthew, Ryan (Andee), Kyla, Lillian, Latisha, Emily (Caleb) and Mary. Gee Gee to Lucian, Taitt, Chase, Aiden, Maddock, Jerry, Nicoli, Noah, Grayson, Lydia, Bianca, Sebastin, Chance, Gunner, Kaos, and Havok. Godmother and Aunt to many nieces and nephews. A second Mother and called "Nanny" by many and always felt family came first. She loved all things concerning the bayou, gardening, flowers and was an avid collector of recipes. First prize winner at the Orange Festival oyster shucking contest. Member of St. Anne Altar Society, Port Sulphur Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Port Sulphur Jaynes. Later in life, she learned to quilt and found joy in donating for benefit raffles. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and very proud of being a Cajun. Parishioner of St. Patrick Church and recipient of the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion for her devotion to the work of the Catholic Church. For over thirty years she was a school bus driver in Port Sulphur and that is how many still remember her to this day, "Miss Helen was my bus driver". A friend to many and always spoke to those around her. Father Jared will be the celebrator of the Mass on January 30, 2021 and special thanks for the love and support of our family and your Irish wit over the years. You were thought of as a son to Mom and Dad, and a brother to our family.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass of Helen, Jody, and Ned at St. Patrick Church, Port Sulphur, Louisiana, on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Family visitation will be held at 8:00am, the public is welcome to attend the Rosary starting at 9:00am. Mass will be at 10:00am. Interment following the services at St. Patrick Mausoleum.

Guests must wear face masks and practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Patrick Church are preferred. Mothe Funeral Homes assisted the family during this difficult time.
