Mary Alice “Annie” del Marmol was born May 15th, 1947 in Coronado California to Judith and F. A. “Pancho” del Marmol. Annie grew up in and around New Orleans, where she lived the majority of her life. She passed from this life the evening of November 6th, 2017. Annie attended Academy of the Assumption, in Miami, and Mercy Academy, in New Orleans, as High Schools.
For College, she attended USL/Lafayette and Graduated from Loyola/New Orleans with a BA. She enjoyed tennis, competitively and for pleasure during her young and mid-adult life. Annie was active in the Hotel/Restaurant and Tourism Industry for the Southern Region in Sales and Marketing for most of her Career. She worked with The Fairmont, The Hilton, The Creole Queen and others, locally, as well as The Grand Old Opry Hotel, in Nashville. Annie was also a member of the Sales Team that originally filled the One Shell Square, as it was being built.
As she was retiring from that fast-paced path, she worked in Administration and Training with The Lighthouse for the Blind of New Orleans, a cause she privately championed from that time, forward.
After she formally retired, Annie found another avenue for her creativity and discovered her Artistic expression in making jewelry, which she sold through a few local venues. Annie was not content to live a “B-Flat” life, and tried to fill her life with activity, throughout it. As there will not be a public ceremony, Annie would want her Family and Friends to celebrate her life, out in the city she loved and served. Annie will be at rest in the Garden of Memories Cemetary. Survived by her sister Susie Nation and brothers George del Marmol and Charles del Marmol. Pre-deceased by her Father and Mother, as well as her older sister Judy Elliott.
