Marlene Piazza Heintz, 82, of Avondale, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on December 19th, 2021. Marlene was born on August 12th, 1939, to Lillie and Gustave (Gus) Piazza in New Orleans, La. She was a graduate of John McDonogh High School in 1958. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Bonaventure Church in Avondale, where she enjoyed volunteering with her fellow church friends. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She met her soulmate, Allen Heintz, in high school, and they wed on December 3rd, 1960, going on to have 1 child, Gina Heintz Breecher. Marlene was an avid sports enthusiast and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her beloved recliner chair watching a football game. She was a passionate cook who enjoyed preparing classic Italian food and so generously fed anyone and everyone who happened to stop by her home. We will miss her greatly. Marlene is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen W. Heintz, mother, Lillie C. Piazza, father, Gustave Piazza, brothers, Frank and Vincent Piazza, sister, Carole P. Rabalais, grandson, Darren M. Breecher Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is survived by her daughter, Gina H. Breecher (Darren Sr.), granddaughter, Heather B. Pattison (Ryan), great grandson, Damien J. Breecher and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family requests that all flowers are sent to St. Bonaventure Church in Avondale, La.
