Margie Lincoln, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in Picayune, MS on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Margie was the youngest child of the late Emma Rowena Hayes Garlington and Wilson Ivey Garlington, and was born and raised in Effie, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. She met and married the love of her life, Hays Marc Lincoln in 1949, and they settled in Nairn, Louisiana to raise their family. Hays and Margie lived there peacefully on their citrus farm until Hurricane Katrina forced a move to Picayune in 2005. They were married for 63 years at the time of his death in 2012. Margie’s passions were her grandchildren, art, and marketing the citrus from their farm.
Margie was the devoted mother to three sons, Roderick Lincoln and wife Leslie of Picayune, MS; Clayton Lincoln and wife Gail of Daphne, AL; and Kerry Lincoln and wife Sharon of Belle Chasse, LA and one daughter, Marsha Lincoln Lejeune and husband Lee of Poplarville, MS.
She is also survived by grandchildren: Jennifer Lincoln (James) Bell, Monica Lincoln (Wade) Whitten, Nikki Lincoln, Valerie Lejeune Poole, Blake Lejeune, Beau Lejeune, Blaire Lejeune (John) Jamison, Amber Lincoln Sanders, Joshua (Ashley) Lincoln and Nikki Roy, and by 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by her sister Bonnie Garlington (Carroll) Lincoln, and brother Praither (Blanche) Garlington; granddaughter, Erica Lincoln, and great-grandsons Jon-Andrew Bell and Michael James Bell.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Port Sulphur, La.
