Marie Elise Therese Clerc Gipson left this world for her heavenly rest on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the age of 70. Born March 9, 1951 in Port Sulphur to Catherine Evasovich Clerc and Rene F. Clerc, Jr. She was married to Paul Louis Gipson for 42 ½ years during which time they were blessed with three children. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Desiree G. Simmons, son Paul L. Gipson, Jr., and daughter Danica G. Williams (Eddie); her grandchildren Kelsey (Jarrett), Zoe, Calise, Paul III, Jacy Cate, Lena, Demi, and Collin; her siblings Jane C. Mayo, Natalie Clerc, Patricia C. Jackson, and John S. Clerc, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Clare C. Hingle, Bro. Rene F. Clerc III, and Grace C. Cognevich. She was a devout Catholic attending Our Lady of Good Harbor Catholic Church in Buras and after Hurricane Katrina, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Port Sulphur. She was a lector, and a Eucharistic minister, and received the Medallion of St. Louis. She enjoyed her job of being “The Mail Lady” for 23 years in lower Plaquemines Parish. She was a two-time cancer survivor. She will be deeply missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Port Sulphur, LA on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 10 AM until Funeral Mass time at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery, Buras, Louisiana. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements. Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com
