Marian "Mimi" Thibodeaux Daigle

June 16, 1931 — March 10, 2021

Marian “Mimi” Thibodeaux Daigle, born June 16, 1931,  passed peacefully in the presence of her loved ones on March 10, 2021.  She was the beloved wife of the late Cleven J. Daigle for 59 years and devoted mother to Cleve Daigle (Cindy), Julie D. Hamilton (Wallace), Bernie Daigle (Judy), and Jenny D. Peytavin (Michael).  She dearly loved her grandchildren, Daryl Haydel (Barbara), Bernie Daigle, Jr. (Patty), Stephen Daigle (Cami),  Jonathan Daigle (Honnah), Andrew Daigle, Cleve Daigle, Jr. (Abby),  Christina Daigle, Lauren Peytavin, Michael Peytavin, and Kathryn Peytavin.  Her precious great grandchildren are Liam, Kent, Cal, Leo, Talia and Asher.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Uranie Thibodeaux, brothers Raymond and James.  A native daughter of Napoleonville, Marian attended St. Mary of the Pines in Chatawa, Mississippi, where she was known as “Tibby”.  She graduated from Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in 1951 and worked as a surgical nurse in New Orleans before starting her family. Marian, a long time resident of Gretna, was active for many years in St. Cletus Church organizations including The Ladies Club, the Annual Fair, Pastoral Care, and the St. Joseph Altar.  She received the St. Louis Medallion  from the archbishop.  Marian showed her love and compassion for others by sharing her talents for cooking, sewing, card-playing  and gardening.  No one left her house without “a little something to take home” and a smile.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Claiborne at Hattiesburg and The Bedford Retirement Center at Petal, Mississippi for all they did for Mimi and their companionship.  Special thanks go to Brandi, Tanika, and Tanya for their compassion and gentleness.  In lieu of flowers,  please consider  making donations to your favorite charity in her honor.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private service will be held for the family on March 12, 2021.  Future plans for a memorial service will be arranged with all of those who loved Mimi in mind.
