Maria “Julia” Osorio Martinez, 67, entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2021. Wife to Mario Martinez of 44 years. Mother of Christian Martinez (Jessica), Mike Martinez (Kim), Susie Martinez, and Gabby Hewitt (Mike). Grandmother of Cole, Kaylee, Emma, Mikey, Mason, and Jaxon “JJ.” Daughter of Zoila Berta Zelaya Osorio and the late Rafael Osorio. Sister of Gloria Osorio Gutierrez (Francisco), Roberto Osorio (Sandra), Guadalupe Osorio Menjivar (Jaime), Sandra Osorio Carrillo (Nelson), and Joana Osorio Alvarado (Alex). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A native of El Salvador, Julia was a longtime resident of Gretna, LA, and fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a United States citizen. She spent 32 years as an educator at Arden Cahill Academy, teaching and impacting countless students, who she all thought of as her "kids." She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and never missed an opportunity to talk about her children and grandchildren.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 1 PM until Memorial Service time at 3 PM.
