Margery Ware Dolese

July 28, 1936 — January 3, 2021

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of Margery “Margie” Nell Ware Dolese who entered eternal rest on January 3rd, 2021 at the age of 84. She was the beloved wife of the late Sterling “Red” Jude Dolese Sr. and daughter of the late Edward Ware Jr. and Margery Walsdorf Ware.

She is survived by her sister Edwyna Ware Head and predeceased by 2 brothers: Edward Ware III and Carlton Ware. Loving mother of Sterling Jr. (Charlene), Mark (Maria), Shannon (Mary), Wade and the late Michael Dolese. Margie was a doting grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a slew of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

As a native of Avondale Louisiana, Margie worked for FMC and later, Avondale Shipyard until retirement. Upon retirement, Margie and Red relocated to Amite, LA to live out their dream of caring for several dogs, horses, cows and chickens at the Daily Double Ranch. When she was not taking care of her animals, she also enjoyed camping and sewing. She was an exceptional seamstress and tailored many items of clothing, including Santa and his Elves suits that were lovingly used by the family religiously, even after the passing of Red, whom was the original family “Santa”. And not to minimize the fact that she was an avid ‘Who Dat’, whereas Margie and Red attended countless Saints games since the beginning of the team franchise.

Margie was a devout catholic, parishioner and religion teacher at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church in Avondale, LA for many years.

She has touched the lives of so many with her unconditional love and kindness and will forever be missed. The people that she has touched during her “Dash” will be remembered by all for years to come.

The entire Dolese Family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and care team at the Luling Living Center where Margie has resided for the past 9 years, and the Saint Catherine Hospice for taking care of her while she has battled Alzheimer’s.

In lieu of flowers, family or friends can send memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in Margery Dolese’s name.
