Manuel Anthony Duhe

February 23, 1936 — December 26, 2020

Manuel Anthony Duhe' went to be with our Heavenly Father and his loving wife, Murphy 'Jo' Duhe', on December 26th, 2020.  He passed away peacefully, 2 months shy of being 85 years of age, after spending time with his loved ones.  Manuel was born in Taft, Louisiana and was a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA for 55 years.
He is survived by his 3 beautiful daughters; Vanessa Gieseler, Melissa Monroe and S. Michelle Powell; their spouses; Raymond Carr, Randy Monroe & Larry A. Powell; 4 grandchildren; Nicole G. Kerby, Sarah Beth Monroe, Cynthia Gieseler, Robert 'Bobby' Gieseler; and 2 great grandchildren; Emmett and Michael.
Manuel 'Tony' and Jo were united in marriage for 62 years.  They met in middle Tennessee where he was stationed when serving in the US Air Force.  Manuel retired as a machinist from the American Marine Corp in New Orleans, LA after Hurricane Katrina devastated the LA/MS Gulf Coast.
He greatly enjoyed hunting & fishing with friends Nico & George Marchese, and his son-in-law Randy Monroe.  He enjoyed playing cards, throwing darts and growing vegetable gardens for his family.  He was the master of boiling seafood & had back yard bar-b-ques on a regular basis throughout his life.  His daughters will testify that he was the best boiler on the Westbank, hands down!
He loved all the 1950's musical genre, but Elvis was his all-time favorite artist.  Elvis was not only one of Manuel's favorite musical artists but favored him with his good looks, singing ability and fancy dancing style.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, brother and loving wife. Although our hearts are heavy from losing our daddy, uncle, grandfather and friend, we are overjoyed that he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus.  Memorial services and their life celebration will be held for close family and friends this Spring.  Manuel and Jo will be laid to rest together at West Lawn Memorial Park in Gretna, LA at that time.  Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
