“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile”. Mother Teresa
Lorraine Paternostro Guidry, age 86, returned to God on December 5, 2018. Born in New Orleans, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Oristile H. “O.H.” Guidry, III, and her parents, Vincent Paternostro and Mary Collura Paternostro. She was the loving mother of Greg (Cathy), a Justice with the Louisiana Supreme Court; Gavin (Jutana), a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the United States Army, and Gaye (Judge John Molaison), a career educator. She was the proud grandmother of Ellie Guidry, Patrick Guidry, Jackson Molaison, Gavin Guidry, Jr., and Ty Guidry, and great-grandmother of Charles Henry Kitto.
Marrero High’s Homecoming Queen married O.H., her soulmate and lifelong partner. Theirs was a perfect bond of lifelong commitment to each other. She is remembered for her competence as a valued secretary and stenographer at the California Company, and above all, her kindness.
Lorraine was a mother and grandmother of warmth and gentleness, an avid reader of inspirational books, and a classic beauty rooted in deep faith. She never met a stranger and was always interested in people’s stories, triumphs, and struggles.
