Laurie Lanette Riley

Laurie Lanette Riley passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2020. Born in Kingsville, Texas, she was the youngest daughter of the late Carolyn Hemby Riley and Robert O’Neil Riley. Laurie is much loved and dearly missed by her sister Erin Riley Lawless, brother-in-law Paul Lawless, nieces Maeve and Caroline Lawless, and aunt Melody Riley Southwell. Laurie was an oil field brat who had fond memories of her life in South East Asia. She loved New Orleans and received her BA in History from the University of New Orleans. As a young college grad, she owned an antique shop in the Quarter. For the past 20 years, she has worked as an SP for Tulane Medical School. Laurie was an idealistic free spirit who is greatly missed by those who loved her for her thoughtful, generous and kind nature, as well as her strong and always controversial political beliefs. Her family would like to thank her friends and colleagues for their kind words and remembrances. A celebration of her life will occur at a later date when we can all gather freely without worry.
