Kirk Andrew Bordelon

February 28, 1951 — January 14, 2021

On January 14, 2021, Kirk Andrew Bordelon entered the Kingdom of Heaven at age 69 after a lengthy battle with COVID. Beloved husband of Pamela Brasseaux Bordelon for 45 years. Father of Bryan Bordelon (Angele). Grandfather of Andrew and Aubree Bordelon. Son of the late Darlene Rackmel Bordelon and Joseph Y. Bordelon (Olivia). Brother of twin Keith Bordelon (Pam), Ken Bordelon (Melody), and the late Kathy B. Acevedo (Joe). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a native of New Orleans, and resident of Metairie, LA.
Kirk graduated from John F. Kennedy High School In 1969, and thereafter, received his Bachelor’s from University of New Orleans in Business Administration. He was self-employed in the insurance industry working alongside his identical twin brother, having created their inseparability through work, life, and activities together. His family lost the most loving member, and his friends lost a genuine advocate for living each day with passion and drive. He spent his efforts investing time in his relationships with family, friends, and two grandchildren. Kirk was very outgoing and never met a stranger throughout years of playing tennis, watching and refereeing high school soccer, riding motorcycles, Thursday golf outings, playing guitar in church or home, daily lunch groups, and talking to everyone at his grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and longtime honorary member of the Blue Knights. He was usually riding weekends, planning road trips, fundraising, or riding across country with his Blue Knight members. Everyone will always remembering Kirk’s driving effectiveness and constant smile. His grandchildren were blessed to have been shown tremendous love and admiration, in which his spirit and joy for life will continue through them.
The family is eternally grateful for the care provided to Kirk in Touro Hospital’s COVID Unit ICU 6 Bed 3 for 46 days. We thank you for the determination and daily support provided. In lieu of flowers, please support the Blue Knights or find a “Hospital Hero Unit” to provide a good meal in Kirk’s memory.
