Kathryn Gail Fasulla, a New Orleans native, graced this world on November 29, 1942, as charming Sagittarius.
Though Kathryn was an entrepreneur, artist, and a serious stuffed-mirliton virtuoso, she would much rather you appreciate her unwavering faith in Jesus, her life-long love affair with Elvis Presley, and her distaste for plastic drinkware.
Kathryn, with an ever striking and uncompromising demeanor, was reminiscent of a 1980’s Kelly Bishop or Susan Sarandon. She was fierce and resilient, with a sort of regal prowess that accompanies women of the silent generation. In reflection, we remember her strength the most, in her faith, in her children, on her hands and legs, and nestled between her brows. Her hands tightly grasped ours as we walked into the college library where she worked, grazing the spines of book, smelling the wood and old paper, the warm hum of a Macintosh. Her hands were soft but admirably strong. A generous palm, broad knuckles atop long slim fingers. Her nails, more commonly unpainted, were thick and ridged like the growth of rings of a Live Oak, as if to display all her wisdom.
Kathryn survived her late husband, Joseph Carl Fasulla, Jr. Her children and their spouses, David and Geraldine Fasulla, Susan and Kim Landry, Laura and DJ Fasulla-Johnson, and Joseph Mills. She leaves behind her grandchildren Jennifer, Christopher, Victoria, and Jimmy and great-grandchildren
Evan-Anthony, Leo, Jasper, Natalia, and Norah.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Kathryn on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, La 70072, at 1:30pm. Visitation will begin at 12pm.
