Kathleen "Kathy" Clark

May 1, 1947 — March 27, 2021

Kathleen (Kathy) Clark of Gretna, LA, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2021, with her family by her side. Kathy was born in New Orleans on May 1, 1947, to Grover (GC) and Minnie Louise (DeGruy) Shealy. During her childhood, the family lived where the Navy sent them: New Orleans, LA; Newport, RI; Canal Zone, Panama; and finally settling in Chula Vista, CA. Kathy graduated from Castle Park High School in 1965. Shortly after graduation, she felt the pull of New Orleans calling her back home. While working at Maison Blanche, she met and married the love of her life, Freddie Clark. They welcomed their two sons, David and Jason, in 1978 and 1979. Kathy loved being the oldest of five sisters, but her greatest joy was being “Mom” to her children and “Grammy” to her granddaughter, Jourdan. Kathy is now reunited with her beloved husband, Freddie; her parents and grandparents; other family and friends. She is survived by her sons, David (Kara) and Jason; granddaughter, Jourdan; stepdaughter, Tanya; her sisters and brothers-in-law; and other family and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathy’s life at the Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey, LA from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, with a funeral mass immediately following at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Children’s Hospital New Orleans or the Gretna Historical Society. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com .
