June Oser Prejean passed away peacefully on March 17, 2022, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carroll James “C.J.” Prejean. She was also preceded in death by her loving sons, Ray Prejean and Daniel Prejean; her grandson, Stephen Vix; her parents, Pearl and George Oser Sr.; and her brother, George Oser Jr. Cherished mother of Jan Cooper (Jim), Cynthia Voisin, Elaine Vix (Skip), Neil Prejean (Libby), and Luanne Neeb (Dave). Devoted grandmother of eight surviving grandchildren: Josh Cooper (Kelley), Jessi Merlo (Esty), Nicole Cayton, Monique Burnell (Tim), B. J. Prejean, Ashley Arendt (Caleb), Becky Valentino (Chris) and Stephanie Vix, and great grandmother of ten. June was well known in the Algiers community for her years of seamstress work and numerous church activities. She loved to travel the country, volunteering several years at Smokey Mountain parks. She also loved square dancing, crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren, John Wayne movies, and getting together with family and friends. The family would like to express thanks to her special caregivers at Our Lady of Wisdom; Mary Muruthie and Kathy Robertson. A Private Memorial Mass will be held at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey, followed by interment at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
