Joy Marie Stipelcovich Thibodeaux

Joy Marie Stipelcovich Thibodeaux, died July 20, 2018 of a heart attack. She was the wife of the late Hilary Thibodeaux, Sr. Daughter of the late Anthony Stipelcovich and Mabel Treadway Stipelcovich. Mother of Therese Marie Thibodeaux, Mrs. Celeste T. Dority (John), Hilary D. Thibodeaux, Jr., Mrs. Celena T. Jensen, (Morten) and Marcel A. Thibodeaux. Sister of Melvin Stipelcovich, (Betty) and Deborah Stipelcovich Hankins, (Jimmy). Grandmother of Danielle Walker Hicks (Joe), Parker Hilary Dority (Ricky), Annette Marie Jensen and Ceserae Marie Jensen. Great grandmother of Alaia Joycelynn Hicks and Astrid Celeste Dority Cornish. Also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
Joy retired from the 24th Judicial District Circuit after a long and distinguished career as a legal secretary. She was an avid, world-wide traveler and a 55-year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Theta Master Chapter. Joy enjoyed history and genealogy, and would never pass up a good conversation. She loved to dance and is now with her loving husband and dance partner.
Joy was beloved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm, resuming on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 9am to 10:30am.
