Joy Marie Touchard Labit

Joy Marie Touchard Labit, of Avondale, Louisiana, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on March 2, 2022, at the age of 85. Preceded in death by her parents, G. Antoine Touchard and M. Shirley Touchard, she is also preceded in death by her brothers Roy Touchard and her sisters, Martha Buffinet and Linda Touchard. Survived by her sisters Margie Boutte, Gaynell Moulliet and Kathleen Touchard and her brother, Charles Touchard. Joy Marie is also survived by her husband of 65 years, Norbert Paul Labit. Blessed with six children she also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Angela Marie Dehner (Paul), Joy Lynn LeBlanc (Robert), Paula Ann Weyer (Karl), Cynthia Ann Buseman (George), Karen Elizabeth Stone (Dean), and son, Jason Paul Labit, who predeceased her at birth. A proud Grandmother of 11 Grandchildren, Nicole, Erin, Jason, Daniel, Sara, Gabrielle, Bradley, Natalie, Jessica, Brittany and Joshua, as well as 17 great grandchildren. Joy Marie was a former employee of the U.S. Postal Service, Sears Roebuck & Co., a restaurant owner, beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and a teacher’s assistant for special children. She enjoyed spending time with family, baking, sewing, and reading, among other things. She was devoted to her husband, family and church parish, St. Bonaventure of Avondale, Louisiana, where she had many friends, and she and Norbert were faithful members for over 60 years. She was also a volunteer with the Legion of Mary. She will truly be sadly missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7070 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 329 South Jamie Blvd., Avondale, Louisiana on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 10AM until the Recitation of the Rosary at 11:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 12 Noon immediately following the Rosary. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Waggaman, Louisiana.
