Joseph Andrew Stifflemire entered into eternal rest on Sunday Januray 2, 2022 at the age of 29. Born April 8, 1992 on the outskirts of Who Dat Nation, Joey proudly embodied every bit of vibrance, charm, and loyalty that comes with being a New Orleans native. His child like spirit and infectious laugh made it easy to fall in love with him.
After graduation in 2010, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. In 2015, TSgt Stifflemire continued to serve his country by enlisting in the Louisiana Air National Guard. On March 10, 2016, he married his sweetheart in their hometown of Belle Chasse, LA, and effortlessly became the most loving and devoted dad to their two beautiful daughters and sweet pup, Magnolia.
He is survived by his wife Hillary Stifflemire; daughters, Joelle and Vivian Stifflemire; dad David Barrett and siblings Anne Holland and Henry; mom Kristen Stifflemire and sister Karalyne; grandparents Joe Allen and Paula Stifflemire; aunt Jessica (Shawn) Bowers with nephews Rylan and Finn; uncle Chris (Larae) Stifflemire with nephew Gabe and niece Lwren.
Friends and family are invited to Exceleration Church, 7737 LA-23 Belle Chasse, LA 70037 on Saturday, January 8 for a time of visitation from 1pm until 2:30 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, we ask for your help honoring Joey in a way we know he'd appreciate most, by attending the service in your favorite sports team jersey.
