Joseph "Jay" Ortego
December 20, 1932 — January 16, 2021
Joseph “Jay” Ortego passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at the age of 88 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Ortego; children, James Martin, Raymond Martin, Charles Martin, Joseph A. Ortego and Randy Ortego; parents, Josephine Deville Ortego and Aristile Ortego along with several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Jay Ortego and Joe Ortego; daughter-in-law, Bobbi Ortego; sister, Mary Ann Cheramie along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 10am to 12noon, followed by prayer services.
