Joseph "Eric" Maier

Joseph "Eric" Maier passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Donna May Maier for the past 38 years. Loving father of Kyle Maier (Emily) and Casey Maier. Son of the late Starr and Joseph Maier. Brother of Kym Maier and Kelly Maier (Kirk Beverung).
Grandfather of Ella and Nolan Maier. Eric was born in St. Louis, Missouri, moved to New Orleans in 1974, then moved to The Woodlands, Texas where he has lived for the past 35 plus years.
Eric was a graduate of O'Perry Walker High School Class of 1977, received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from LSU in 1982 and his MBA from Texas A&M in 2001. While in New Orleans, he was a member of the Algiers Jaycees and the Krewe of Janus. Eric worked in the Oil and Gas Business in the United States and abroad for 35 years. He had been working as a substitute teacher and just received his alternative teaching certification. He just started a job at Sam Houston High School as their Robotics Teacher and was very excited about this new career.
Just like the Big Easy, Eric was larger than life. He could fill a room with his colorful personality, Hawaiian shirts, and festive hats. Eric loved life. He loved being around people. Anyone that met Eric will never forget him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm at The Woodlands Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77380.
