John Harrison Pemberton, Jr.

John Harrison Pemberton, Jr. peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 95. He was the beloved and loving husband of Dorothy Bushell Pemberton for 70 years. Son of the late John Harrison Pemberton, Sr. and Laura Beck Pemberton. Loving father of Michael D. Pemberton, Retired Professor from Nicholls State University and Nancy Pemberton, DDS (Kirk). Grandfather of Laura Simoneaux (Mitch). Great Grandfather of Emily, Katelyn, Clare and the late Luke Simoneaux. Brother of James B. Pemberton (the late Molly), Ret. Col. David L. Pemberton (Brownie) and the late Ruth P. Stamn. John was born in Bellevue, Iowa and was a resident of Luling, LA. John was co-owner and General Manager of Fishing Tools, Inc. an Oilfield Rental and Specialty Tool Company. He served his country while enlisted in the United States Navy (1941-1945) during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a prolific reader and loved woodworking, fishing, gardening and excelled in woodcarving. He was a generous and wonderful provider for his family. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Staff of Haydel Hospice and the caregivers of Ashton Manor Assisted Living in Luling. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 9:30AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
