John H. Mine, Sr.

John H. Mine, Sr. passed away peacefully on May 28, 2021 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of the late Florence Winters Mine. Father of John H. Mine, Jr. (Carol), Terri M. Cortez (Sonny), Denise Ann Mine and the late Arlynn M. Plaisance (the late George, Jr.). Brother of Margaret M. Chisholm (the late L.G.), Mary M. Mineo (the late Frank), Geraldine M. Conti (the late Johnny), Janet M. Cantrelle (the late Ernest) and the late Dave H. Mine (the late Ruby). Son of the late Altie Younger Mine and David H. Mine. Grandfather of George, III, Ginger (Travis), Alicia (Brad), Jim (Lacey), Lauren and Ryan (Leslie). Also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. He joined the New Orleans Police Department and retired after 25 years of service. He then became a U.S. Marshal and served for 23 years.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 9am to 11am. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Our Lady of Perpetual Help Mausoleum in Belle Chasse, LA.
