John L. Knight Sr

John L. Knight Sr. of Gretna, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at home with his beloved Belgian Malinois “Sledge". Johnny was born August 23, 1954 to the late parents of Joseph Lavern Knight of Jones County and Wanda Fulcher Knight of Belzoni, MS. He is survived by his son, John Knight Jr. (Jamie) and his daughter, Amber Hilley (Shawn); Grandchildren, Sydney Hilley, Priscilla Knight, and John Knight III; Sister, Pam Falcon (Jon) of Little Rock, AR and Brother, David Micheal Carter; Also survived by nieces and nephews David Falcon, Darrin Falcon, Niki Scott, Michael Carter, and Chantelle Theocharidis. After his 18 year career at McDermott as a welder, he continued the trade to become a chief welding inspector. He was part of the 798 Pipeliners Union and a 30+ year member of the American Welding Society. He enjoyed playing pool and rebuilding muscle cars.
