John Cappell, Jr.

Being taken away from us too soon, John Cappell, age 48, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He was born on July 9th, 1970 in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his wife Ilona Kesel Cappell and his daughter Brittany Margaret Cappell. He is also survived by his parents Margaret Rivet and Johnny Brian Cappell Sr, along with his two younger brothers Paul (Pam) and Christian Cappell. He is also survived by a large loving family in the United States and Germany. He attended Brother Martin High School (1988). He enlisted in the United States Army from 1992-1997. During that time, he was stationed in Kitzingen, Germany; where he met his lovely wife, Ilona. They were married for 22 years and together they raised a beautiful daughter, Brittany. After his honorable discharge from the military he received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Charity School of Nursing, John worked as a conscientious, nurturing and caring Registered Nurse at different hospitals throughout the New Orleans area. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Service at St. Cletus Catholic Church 3600 Claire Avenue Gretna, LA 70053 on Saturday September 22, 2018. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm with memorial services following at 1 pm.
