John Shelby Broussard

John Shelby Broussard passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021 at the age of 85. Former husband of Shirley Conques Broussard. Loving father of Elizabeth Dore’ (Keith), Robin Treadaway (John), Michelle Platt (Bill), and the late Clark Broussard. Grandfather of Vincent-John Broussard (Antonella), Stephanie Turlich (Glenn), Jenny Fontenot (Jacob), Patrick Treadaway (Ashley), Brett White (Julia), Jared Dore’ (Carrie), Braden Broussard (Samantha), Whitney Reno (Bubby), Andrew Platt (Kelli), Alex Treadaway (Jessica), and the late Cristian Broussard. Brother of Janet LeBlanc and the late Raymond Broussard. Son of the late Lloyd Broussard and Lelia David Broussard. Also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, his canine companions, “Boudreaux” and “T-Boug” along with other loving relatives and friends.

John graduated from Youngsville High School and attended University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, LA. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He later retired from Camco as a wireline operator. John was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his time on the water.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Services will follow.
