John Paul Baker, Sr. age 82, of Avondale, LA., passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. He was a NOLA native, diehard sports fan with a passion for taking his chances at the casinos. He also enjoyed making people laugh.
He was the beloved husband of the late Juliet Mary Buras Baker. Father of Julie Ramirez (Angel), Janice Baker, Joan Baker (Don), and John P. Baker, Jr. (Shannon). Grandfather of Wendy (Brandon), Julie (Barry), Jennifer (Julian), Jennah, and Lucas. Great grandfather of Abigail, Justin, Austin, Jade, Jonathan, Jacob, and Michael. Son of the late Rudolph Charles Baker, Jr., and Isabelle Clara Soulant. Brother of the late Delores Baker, Joyce Baker Paretti, Rudolph Baker, III, Thomas Baker, Sr., and Alfred Baker. He is survived by his brother Henry Baker.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at 1:30 PM. Interment at St. Vincent de Paul Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 11 AM until 1:30 PM.
