Joanne "Jody" Perkins Demoss

Jo Anne “Jody” Perkins DeMoss, 60, died Monday, June 20, 2022, in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Jo Anne, or "Jody" as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was born October 13, 1961 in New Orleans to Audrey and Warren Perkins. She grew up in Gentilly and then moved with her family to Gretna, where she has lived ever since. She attended Archbishop Blenk High School, and enjoyed a vibrant social life with friends and family alike in her youth. Jody loved animals of all kinds and had many beloved pets throughout her life, including a chicken named Hennessy and too many dogs to count. She was a great fan of country and western music, and no one who heard her laugh could fail to laugh with her.
She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, David “Dave”; her daughter, Alexandra, her son, Jacob, her son, Jason, her mother, Audrey; her sister, Dianne; her brother Warren Jr.; and her many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2 PM. Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the LASPCA or The National Alzheimer’s Association.
