Jewell Waguespack Cuccia

Jewell Waguespack Cuccia entered peacefully into heaven on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the age of 91. She has been reunited and is dancing with her beloved husband of 59 years, Louis Rodney Cuccia, Sr. Her legacy of love will continue with her 10 children: Louis Jr., Craig (Lisa), Anthony, Glenn, Jewell (Timothy Falcon), Jay (Dorothy), Chris (Kathy), Bruce (Kim), David (Giselle), Dean (Robin); 29 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Sidney P. Waguespack Sr., and Blanche Haydel Waguespack. Sister of the late Elia Waguespack, Marcelle Haydel (Claude), Sidney Waguespack Jr., Haydel Waguespack (Lee Anna). She is survived by her sisters Blanche Troxclair (Leon) and Gaynell Bourgeois (Leo). Also survived by a host of many nieces and nephews.
Jewell was a beautiful and loving wife, daughter, sister, sister-n-law, mother, mother-n-law, Maw-Maw, and friend. She truly cherished each of these roles. She graciously opened her home, kitchen, and heart to all. Her devotion to her faith and family will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her. Jewell’s vocation of being a mother and Maw-Maw has enriched all of our lives. Jewell taught by example the lessons of love, generosity, and pure enjoyment of life. She will genuinely be missed, but will forever live in our hearts.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., in Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 12PM. Visitation will begin at 10AM. Mass will begin at Noon. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA 70056. In her honor please wear colorful attire.
