Jesse Daniel Clark

September 24, 1937 — November 9, 2017

Jesse Daniel Clark, passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Vola Clark and four of his siblings, Roy Clark Jr, Geraldine Clark, Jolene Marshall and Jack Clark; brother-in-law, Dallas White and sister-in-law, Maudine Clark. Jesse is the beloved husband of 54 years of Janet Edmonds Clark. He is the loving father of Julie Williams (Ernie), Jennifer Lesher (Jon), and Jason Clark (Kayla). Jesse is the devoted grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Joshua, Jay, Brent, Jeffery, Zachary, Emily, Olivia and Thomas. He is great grandfather of two great-granddaughters, Paris and Jayleigh. Jesse is the loving brother of, Imogene White, Anna Lee Williams (Doyle), James Clark (Marjorie), Don Clark (Kathy) and John Clark (Becky). He is also survived by brother-in-law, Dwight Marshall; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Jesse served in the United States Army and Army Reserves for 6 years. After leaving the Army, he explored his musical talent. He grew up in a musical family and became one of many family members to share his singing talents with others. He was a member of the Spirituals Quartet with brother James Clark, Jerry Bradshaw, Fred Bradshaw, and Nomas Summers. The quartet released two gospel albums and toured Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky performing at churches and auditoriums. He was an insurance salesman in Carmi, Illinois before the booming oilfield of South Louisiana called in 1970. It was at that time that the family moved to Buras, Louisiana. Once settled in Louisiana, he became a member of the Apostles of Joy trio with Jeffrey Boone and Doug Phillips. The family would like to give special thanks to Egan Home Health/Hospice social worker and caregivers: Simone, Donisha, and Charlotte. Also to sitters, Amber Wilson and Sherry Trahan who showed unwavering kindness and compassion to our entire family. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Chaplain Byron Putman and PPSO deputy Willie Stowe for their sincere compassion at this trying time. Current and former employees of Premier Industries, Comet Construction, TCB Industries, and French’s Welding, as well as, family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a short Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time at First Baptist Church of Belle Chasse, 8828 LA-23, Belle Chasse, LA. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna.
