Jerry A. Simoneaux Sr. went to Heaven Friday, December 31, 2021. He was 88 years old.
Jerry was a happy and friendly man who greeted everyone with a warm smile and a
joke. He loved spending time at his favorite hangout, Terrytown Cafe & Donuts, aka
"The Donut Shop". His best friend Phil Mayerhafer would pick him up so they could
visit with John, Earl, Abdul, Charlie, Ray and others. Together they would trade
jokes, stories, and solve the world's problems.
Jerry was blessed to be married to two beautiful and loving ladies. Betty (Joyce
Lewis) and Jerry were married December 29, 1955 and lived a simple but happy life
until 1991 when she passed away. They had two sons, Jerry and Michael.
Jerry married Daisy (Romaguera) December 1, 2000, and they enjoyed 13 years
together until she passed in 2013.
He worked for McClean Trucking for over 25 years, first as a truck driver and later
as a dispatcher. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955.
Jerry is survived his two sons, Jerry (Dionne) and Michael (Camille), his two sisters,
Betty Alfonso, and Barbara Bergeron. He is also survived by five grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren all living the Greater New Orleans area.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 6201 Stratford Place, New Orleans, LA on on Friday, January 7, 2021 from 9:30 AM until Funeral Mass time at 11 AM. A Repast will follow from 12 PM until 2 PM in the Parish Family Life Center next to the
Church. Please, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Jerry's name to the
Servants of Mary, 5001 Perlita St., New Orleans, LA (504) 282-5549.
