Jeannette Simison Israel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 100. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Charles Israel; her daughter, Jeanne Israel Hart; and her grandson, Ralph Hart. She is the loving mother of Norman Boyd Israel ( Laura), Peggy Israel Doerschuk (David), and Eileen Israel Correa (John) . She is the devoted grandmother of Christopher Israel (Heidi), Kelly Israel, Rebecca Hart (Randy Guidry), Robert Hart (Paula), Norman Hart (Gabriella), Gregory Jordan (Michelle), John Correa, and Mark Correa. She is the great grandmother of Sarah Israel, Barry Hart (Julie), Toni Gaudin (Doug), Joshua Hart (Savannah), Collin Stolzenthaler, Grant Jordan, Garrett Jordan, and Genevieve Jordan. She is the loving great great grandmother of 6 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews other family and friends. Jeannette, best known as Granny loved her family and was a Saints and Atlanta Braves fan who also enjoyed flowers, Christmas music, reading on her Kindle and sparkly clothes. She was a long-time member of Algiers United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She will be forever loved, remembered, and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves us with her personal quote, “Don’t cry. I had a wonderful life. I just want all of you to be happy”. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation on Saturday, October 13, 2018 beginning at 1:00PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00PM all at Algiers United Methodist Church, 637 Opelousas Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Interment Hook and Ladder Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. In charge of arrangements.
