Janet Caruso Duhon

Janet Caruso Duhon passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on December 23, 2020 at the age of 75. Beloved wife of 54 years to Robert “Bobby” Duhon. Mother of Michele Duhon Overland (Darrel Overland) and Sean R. Duhon (Nesiah Terrebonne). Grandmother of Dantin Overland and Gabrielle Terrebonne. Sister of Marilyn Martin (the late Ronald Martin). Godmother of Nicholas Martin, Chrissy Guidry, and Gianna Collura. Daughter of the late Nicholas Caruso and Louise Caruso Houston. Step-daughter of the late Ben Houston. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Janet worked for Sandair and later for the Superdome for several years. In her retirement, she loved to volunteer for Wynhoven Health Care Center’s Birthday Bash. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed her time in the kitchen. Her baked macaroni and cheese was a family favorite. Her generous and selfless nature was the center of the love that she shared for her family and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Ochsner Cancer Center and Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ).
