Mr James W Tierney Jr

James W. Tierney Jr "Jimmy" passed away peacefully in his home on the evening of Thursday, May 6, 2021. Jimmy was born in Algiers in October of 1939 to the late Mr. James W. Tierney Sr. and the late Mrs. Bonnie B. Tierney. Jimmy was honorably discharged from The United States Marine Corp before he began working for the Louisiana Gas Service in Marrerro,La. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, (KC) Santa Maria Council, as well as a member of the "Westside Fighting 69ers", both located in Algiers. Jimmy enjoyed sports and fishing, just as much as he loved to dance and socialize, but he really loved to spend his spare time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
James W. Tierney Jr is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Iris H. Tierney and his parents, James W. Tierney Sr. and Bonnie B. Tierney.
James is survived by his children, Keith C. Tierney (Marisol Gradiz), Scott A. Tierney, and Jason W. Tierney Sr. ( Patricia Richard), and his grandchildren, Taylor, Jason, Brenton, and Julian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11am at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La 70058. A visitation will begin at 9am. Interment will follow at Hook and Ladder Cemetery in Gretna. Guests attending the services will be required to wear a face mask/covering and social distancing will be implemented.
