James A. Summerville Sr.

James Alvin Summerville Sr. passed away peacefully in his home on Monday evening, July 11, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old. James was born in New Orleans on February 19, 1948, to the late William H. Summerville Jr and Flora Mae Summerville.
James is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlene Boudreaux Summerville; his children, James Alvin Summerville Jr (Suzuanne), Tammy Summerville (Brian Biondi), Tina S. Findley (Lee), and Marlene Seminary (Chanc Sr.); his grandchildren, Justin Burkeens (Haley), Bre’ann Montalban (Michael), Dorrian Richoux, Jasmine Findley, Jacob Findley, Chanc Seminary Jr., Dale Koenig III, Keith Underdown III, and Zoey Underdown. James is also survived by his siblings, William H Summerville III (Lauren), Diane S. Allen (Jimmy), and Peggy S. Spivey (David), as well as his nieces, nephews, and extended family.
James is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Summerville Jr., and Flora Mae Higgins Summerville.
James worked as a machinist at Faulk Renew Prager for over 45 years. He was a member of the Red Knights of Marrero and enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends. He especially loved to take motorcycle rides with Charlene. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Mothe Funeral Home, located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd. Marrero, La. at 11am. The visitation will begin at 9am.
