James "Zero" Carroll Brignac, born July 24, 1931, has entered into eternal rest on September 5, 2022. Beloved husband of Mary Dugan Brignac, and the late Betty Dufrene Brignac by first marriage of 51 years. Father of Jackie Clements (Carol), Kim Kraemer (John), Kris Brignac, Brent “Boogie” Brignac, and Cody Brignac Sr. (Norma Parfait). Grandfather of Michael Clements (Stephanie), Patrick Clements, Leslie Bonfield (Christopher), Thomas Orgeron, Jr. (Tera), Tracy O. Summers (late Christian), Heather Coates, Misty Toups (Garrison Jr.), Adam Davis (Jennifer), Brittany Brignac Billiot (David Jr.), and Cody Brignac, Jr. Great-grandfather of Gavin Clements, Noah James Clements, Natalie Bonfield, Caleb Orgeron, Serenity Orgeron, Destin Orgeron, Sabryna Summers, Elijah Summers, Sicily Coates, Makayla Spatafora, Shawn Davis, Autumn Toups, Eddie Carr, Adam Davis, Jr., Hunter Davis, Adleigh Brignac, and Masyn Billiot. Son of the late Marcel "Pat" Brignac and Myrtle Roussel Brignac. Brother of Patricia “Patsy” B. Roussel (late Terry), Merlyn “Merle” B. Bourgeois (Tommy), Curtis Brignac (Cheryl), and the late Russel Brignac (late Lois), the late Janice “Teeny” B. Petit (late Mike), the late Gail “Pie” Brignac, the late Peggy B. Petit (late Billy), and the late John “Joe” Kenneth Brignac (late Merle). Stepfather of Michael Dugan (Deanna), and the late Greg Dugan and Jeffrey Dugan. Step-grandfather of Sarah Melancon (Patrick) and Natalie Ellender (Dwight). Step-great-grandfather of Ella and Ruby Melancon and Elliot Ellender. Age 91 years, a native of Hester, LA, longtime resident of Bridge City, and then Bogalusa, LA. James was a loving and amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and spent his career until retirement with E. I. Dupont Chemical Plant in Reserve, LA.
A proud Cajun who loved to talk of his Nova Scotian descent as well as a gardener who raised fruits and vegetables. He was also an avid hunter-fisherman, a Former Member of Dolly T. Hunting Club in Talisheek, LA and Money Hill Hunting Club of Abita Springs. James was a Former Parishioner at Holy Guardian Angel's Church of Bridge City, Louisiana and Past President of Bridge City Civic Association, Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1819 Bogalusa, and member of the Italian American Club. He was a faithful parishioner and Eucharistic Minister with Annunciation Catholic Church in Bogalusa. James was honored with the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership Program by Sheriff Randy “Country” Seal. James loved to dance and spend time with family and friends. He will also be missed by his beloved dog Rocky.

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:30 AM. Interment Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.
