Irby Edward Morvant Sr.

Irby Edward Morvant Sr. passed peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the age of 82. Irby is the devoted husband of Linda Phelan Morvant for the past 56 years. Loving father of Melanie Morvant Hinkel (Mark) and Irby Edward Morvant, Jr. (Allyson). Proud grandfather of Maci Marie Hinkel, Matthew Hinkel (Dominique), Amelia Marie Morvant, Thomas Irby Morvant, and Natalie Frances Morvant. Great-grandfather of Vivian and Caroline Hinkel. Son of the late Joseph Irby C. Morvant and Agnes Pitre Morvant Giroir. Uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, and a good friend to many. Irby was a member of the Westside Fighting 69ers, Theta Social Club, Gretna Historic Society, Terrytown Lions Club, and a Parishioner of Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church. His passions included dancing, music, baseball and golf, but most important to him was his love for his family.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 10 AM until Funeral Mass time at 12 Noon.
