Huey Thomas Guidroz Sr.

August 15, 1954 — June 15, 2018

Huey Thomas Guidroz, Sr. peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the age of 63. He was the beloved husband of Melinda Charbonnet Guidroz. Son of the late Emile Joseph Guidroz, Jr. and Frances Guidry Guidroz. He was the loving and devoted father of Huey Thomas "Tommy" Guidroz, Jr. (Dana) and Jonathan Blake Guidroz (Courtney). Grandfather "Poppa" of Wren Harper Guidroz, Max Cole Guidroz, and Rory Blair Hughes. Brother of the late Brad Emile Guidroz, Sr. Uncle Huey to many nieces and nephews. In addition to his family he had numerous things he enjoyed such as cooking and grilling. To Huey he and his two sons were aspiring "Pit Masters" He was a plant enthusiast especially taking pride in his plumeria plants and loved housing his purple Martin birds. He thoroughly enjoyed riding and rebuilding his Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a mechanical mastermind who paid attention to detail. From an accomplished ball player in his younger years, he went on to coach his two sons in multiple sports. He was well known as "Coach Huey" at the Harvey Playground. He considered his home away from home (on this physical of course) to be his camp in Myrtle Grove where he loved fishing, fixing things, and just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. He also had a special place in his heart for his Min-Pin "Maggie May" and loved to spoil her. He was a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School. He worked at Halliburton as a Marine Diesel Mechanic for 26 years and then for MSRC/CGA as a Master Responder for 11 years. From there he worked for Clean Gulf Associates as a Master Mechanic for 6 years. He received his Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in 1981. He was an active member of the Gretna Sportsmen's Club where he served as President for several years and also a member of the American Legion Post 0064. A special thanks to Tulane Medical Clinic Doctors and Staff as well as Egan Health and Hospice. We will always carry his memory in our hearts, and he will be sadly missed by so many.
Relatives and Friends of the Family, and members of Cornerstone Christian Center and the afore mentioned groups, are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11 AM.
