It is with a heavy and sad heart that the Munkres family announces the passing of Glenn L. R. Munkres, Jr. Buddy was born on March 26, 1963, in Iwakuni, Japan and passed the morning of September 13, 2021. He was a dedicated and loving husband of 36 years to Janice Munkres and is survived by his father, Glenn L. R. Munkres, Sr. and mother-in-law, Betty Hamby; his two children, Jennifer Rutherford (Joshua) and Glenn Scott Munkres, Sr. (Kimi); and his three siblings, Don Munkres (Mary), Cathy Gustavson (Don) and Barb Munkres. Buddy was known as “Grumpy” to his three grandchildren, Angelica, Christian and Glenn Scott, Jr. and “Uncle Buddy” to his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Faye Munkres, and his father-in-law, Donald Hamby. Buddy was a USCG veteran, a highly regarded businessman and a dedicated Christian, who was very involved in his church. He touched so many lives through his personal commitment to God, church, family, and friends. Buddy was known for his signature cowboy hat and his singing; he was a man who would do anything to help others and genuinely cared for all he met, often asking how he could pray for them. Buddy taught his children to remember two things: 1. Remember whose kid you are and 2. Make God proud. If you do #2, you don’t have to worry about #1.We miss him and cannot wait to see him again on the streets of gold in Heaven.
