Gladys María Ohmer

Gladys María de la Trinidad Oviedo Ohmer passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2020. Gladys was born in San Jose, Costa Rica to Víctor Oviedo Hernández and Zelmira Acosta López. Beloved wife of the late Tobias John Ohmer. Mother of Jennifer Ohmer, Jeannette Ohmer Davis (Robin), and Elizabeth Ohmer Pellegrin (Bob). Grandmother of Joshua Davis (Sharon), Nicolle Davis, Heather Leonard (Jeremy), and Heidi Leonard Samuelson (Rick). Great-grandmother of Candace and Lexie Davis, Frederick, Pierre, and Quentin Samuelson. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and a special family friend, Nancy Esteve Saltzman, who was like another daughter to her. Gladys was a resident of Gretna for the past 67 years.
Gladys was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who also loved and cared for many other children. Among her talents, she was an artist, an avid gardener, and practiced Reiki for 30 years. Her kind, loving, and forgiving spirit will remain an example to us every day. Gladys will be greatly missed and forever loved by many.
A private funeral service was held for the family at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or Boys Town.
