Gladys Ella Hess

Gladys Ella Hess, this wonderful God fearing, loving Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Granny and MeMe was called home on August 12, 2021. She was married to the love of her life to the late Jerry O. Hess. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law whom she loved dearly, Lois and Preston Morris, Cookie “Donna” and Melvin Blanchard and Sheldon Topham. She was welcomed into the Hess family and is survived by many loved ones that call her sister-in-law, Aunt and Cousin. Mom was not blessed with a working womb but oh did God Bless her with the Spirit and a fierce love of a Mom. Her and dad raised myself, Sherry Hess Adams and Polly Hess Ballew and a niece or two along the way, Cathy, Ronda and Judy. She has lovingly welcomed Bert E. Adams, Jr. and Greg Ballew into our family and treated them as her own sons. I know she loved her children but when she became a Granny to Jodi and Kris Goder, Justin Ballew, Jordan Ballew and her fiance’ Levi Martin and great granny to Bradan and Tristan, a MeMe to Bert Adams, III, Girlfriend, Alyssa Ruiz, Jeremy Adams and great MeMe to Jace Ruiz and Arya Ella Adams her love grew ever more. She was known as Nanny to Jaquetta and Becky. She is preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Mae Nicks Buras and her sisters, Della, Diane and Bonnie. Mom loved her family, church services, cooking videos, Gospel Hymns, helping babysit Jace and Arya and her late night take out. Our Cousin, Trey Hess will preach at mom’s services. What wonderful memories mom has made with so many family and friends. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make new memories with loved ones, go to church, drink morning coffee on the porch and always remember Gods day is always a day of rest. All attendees are required to wear their face mask for the duration of the Visitation and Funeral Services. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 9AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
