Gina Theresa Jones-Sims

With great sadness we share the passing of our loved one, Gina Theresa Jones-Sims on November 16, 2022 at the age of 64. She was born on February 21, 1958 to Bobbi Ann Mistich and Jesse Jones Sr. of Buras, LA.

Gina will be missed for her abundance of love and beauty. She was full of life and shared that love with anyone she encountered. Her inner radiance and generosity shined brightly as she colored the world through her creativity in art, gardening, and crafts. She was a lover of beauty and nature. Gina had the ability to make people feel special and she loved wholeheartedly.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Gina is survived by her significant other of 25 years, Nathan Sims and her only daughter, Kristin Hartt (Jerry) and grandchildren, Lilly J. Cashi and Jrew C. Vernon. Other surviving family members include her stepchildren, Mark Sims (Crissy), Michael Sims, Stacy Sims Hughes (Brett), Marty Sims, and Alex Sims (Jessie) and her beloved bonus grandchildren; Jenna Vernon, Conner Sims, Gunnar Wilson, Alexis Hughes, Ashlyn Sims, Alana Hughes, Aylah Sims, Preston Demarco, Annalise Hughes, Max Sims, and Paige Sims; her sister, Patricia Houpy (David); her brother, Jesse Jones Jr. (Vicky); her nephews, David Houpy Jr. (Victoria), Adrian Jones, Cohn Houpy and Avery Houpy.

Gina will be cremated to rest in a beautiful urn in accordance with her style. Services for close family and friends will take place on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 9am followed by Mass at 11am at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Sulphur, LA.
