Geraldine "Jeri" Usey Huff

Geraldine “Jeri” Usey Huff, age 75, passed away August 27, 2018 surrounded by family and love ones. She was a native of Algiers, LA and resided in Marrero, LA for 15 years. A devoted and loving mother and grandmother, Geraldine spent her life loving and caring for those dearest to her heart. Preceded in death by her parents Edward O. and Jeanne B. Usey; son, Robert W. Usey; 4 brothers, Joseph, Norman, Robert, and Raymond Usey; and 5 sisters, Esther Radcliffe, Mary McCain, Shirley Cheramie, Rita Mae Usey, and Ethel Hughes. Jeri is survived by her longtime companion Thomas Lockwood; brothers, Earl Usey and Gerald Usey (Linda); sister-in-law, Joy Usey; children, Julie Gautro (Harold), Wayne Mason (Denise), Dana Guidry (Anthony), and Michael Huff (Michelle); grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Gautro, Shayne, Amanda and Faith Usey, Kaylynn, Anjele, Jade and Dawn Guidry, Mindy Parker , Dalton, Alyssa, Cayden and Walker Huff; great-grandchildren, Gage Ruiz, Ernie Melford, Dominic, Max, Bryson, and Gabriella Gautro; and a host of nieces and nephews. Jeri’s love for others, her spirit for life, boisterous laugh, and her signature phrase “Hey my baby” that she used to greet those she knew will truly be missed by all that knew her. The family would also like to thank Passages Hospice and most importantly Jeannine, Shannon, and Kaci for all of the loving care that they provided over the past 8 months. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:45am. Interment McDonogh Cemetery in Gretna. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5pm to 10pm, resuming on Friday from 8am to Service Time.
