Gerald Joseph "Pezo" Aupied

Gerald Joseph “PEZO” Aupied passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Eleanora “Nora” G. Aupied for 54 years. Son of the late Gaston and Edith Aupied. Brother of Betty Ann Jackson and Nancy Vicknair (Harold). Uncle of Emile “Bubby” and Debra Gauthreaux, who were his caregivers. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of the Class of 1954, Westwego High School. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. Having retired from the U.S. Army, he also retired from Plexco, Bredero Price, and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. Gerald was a member of the Marrero Lions Club for 30 years and was awarded the “Melvin Jones Fellowship” Award, the highest Lions award. He was an avid “card player” at the casino and was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 11am. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9am until 11am. Everyone attending must wear a face covering. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
