George W. Greathouse

George W. Greathouse, born July 5, 1939 in Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 79. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Mildred Greathouse; and his brother, Tony Greathouse. He is the beloved husband of 31 years of Linda B. Greathouse. He is the loving father of Greg Greathouse (Christy), Tala Greathouse, Lady-Jessica Broussard, Bill Thompson (Gina). He is the devoted grandfather of Hannah Greathouse, Corbin Greathouse, Steven Rapalo, Devin Rapalo, Jade Thompson, Joey Thompson, and Jaci Thompson. He is the loving son-in-law of Leola Broussard. He is also survived by other family and friends. George was a retired valve technician in the nuclear industry. He honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Paul E. Boyd # 579. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and repairing clocks, engines, and a variety of devices. He also enjoyed working with Toys for ToTs through the Marine Corps. However, his # 1 passion was reserved for his family, his kids and most of all, his grandkids. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Services are being held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at General DeGaulle Drive Church of Christ, 4700 DeGaulle Drive in Algiers with a Memorial Visitation to begin at 3:30 PM followed by the Memorial Service at 4:00 PM. Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA. in charge of arrangements.
