Gail Gertrude Pittman Lewis

Gail Gertrude Pittman Lewis born was called home on Friday, September 10, 2021. Mrs. Lewis was born on August 30, 1939 in New Orleans to her late parents, Gertrude Garza Pittman and William Thomas Pittman, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lewis of 61 years and her children, Robert Stephen Lewis, Julie Lewis Plunkett (Michael), Shawn David Lewis (Linda), Mary Elizabeth Lewis and Amy Lewis Morse (Frank). She was also survived by her grandchildren, Nicole Chauvin, Bryce Lewis (Caroline), Kevin Plunkett, Sarah Plunkett, Blaise Lewis, Lucas Morse, William Plunkett, Amelia Morse and by her great grandchildren, Beau Chauvin, Kelsi Chauvin and Carter Dampier. She is also survived by her sisters, Audrey Leroux and Judy Hebert. She is preceded in death by her siblings, June Sutherland, William Pittman, Jr. and Wayne Pittman. She graduated from Holy Name of Mary High School in Algiers and received a Bachelor’s of Science from Dominican College in New Orleans. She was an educator for over 30 years. She enjoyed painting, gardening, antiquing, reading and especially spending time with her family and close friends. She was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Women’s Club at Christ the King Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Christ the King Catholic Church, 535 Deerfield Road, Terrytown, Louisiana on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 10:30AM until 12:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Wednesday at 12:30PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
